Abstract

This issue broadly explores RFID and how it applies to libraries. Applications include security, rapid charging and discharging of library materials by staff, easier patron self-charging, sorting for reshelving, electronic inventorying, and electronic shelf reading. The author discusses available products, and their strengths and weaknesses.
