Abstract

Chapter 4 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 50, no. 5) “3-D Printers for Libraries” covers software for use with 3-D printing. After introducing the two common file formats and a sharing site for files, the chapter covers three software packages for design, organized by the level of expertise they require. The chapter also covers products that scan physical objects and the operational software that interfaces between a file and the 3-D printer’s mechanisms.
