Chapter 1: Natural User Interfaces and Accessibility

Abstract

Chapter 1 of Library Technology Reports (vol. 52, no. 3), “Mobile Learning Trends: Accessibility, Ecosystems, Content Creation,” discusses the rise of NUIs (natural user interfaces), which is leading to easier computing for all ages and abilities. It covers touchscreens, speech recognition, conversational interfaces, augmented reality, and several other types of NUIs. Covering several types of disabilities, examples show how people’s lives are improving with the use of mobile devices and natural user interfaces.

Nicole Hennig

Nicole Hennig is an independent user experience professional, helping librarians and educators effectively use mobile technologies.
