Abstract

As a professional group, public library staff working in children’s services strive to provide high quality services and programming for all children and their caregivers; they are committed to respecting the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the people in their community, creating inclusive spaces, and continuously working to develop cultural competency.

Author Biographies

Kate Grafelman

Kate Grafelman is a Children’s Programming Librarian at the Bartholomew County (IN) Public Library. She earned her MSLS degree at the University of Kentucky in 2021.

Sarah Barriage

Sarah Barriage is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Science at the University of Kentucky.
